X-Ray Center announced today the placement of several of its first TSA approved XRC® 180-180DV 200kV dual view cargo screening systems with Turkish Cargo, the successful air cargo brand of Turkish Airlines.

ISTANBUL, BeylikdüzüNov. 30, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- X-Ray Center announced today the placement of several of its first TSA approved XRC® 180-180DV 200kV dual view cargo screening systems with Turkish Cargo, the successful air cargo brand of Turkish Airlines.

X-Ray Center's XRC® 180-180DV 200kV is designed with the latest technology and software to scan medium and large packages on a pallet in detail. The system offers unique and superior image quality by showing the scanned organic, inorganic and mixed items in different colors thanks to its multi-diode structure and advanced imaging software, all of which were developed in-house by XRC in Istanbul, Türkiye. XRC's 180-180DV cargo x-ray screening systems have been placed in Turkish Cargo's mega cargo facility called SMARTIST in Istanbul, Türkiye.

Turkish Cargo's SMARTIST, which is designed to serve as the biggest industrial building under a single roof at the new Istanbul Airport, will achieve an annual capacity of 4 million tons at an area of 340.000 square meters. The facility, equipped with smart technologies such as Automatic Storage Systems and Robotic Process Automation also now includes X-Ray Center's TSA approved XRC® 180-180DV dual view systems, which screen all of the cargo passing through this mega cargo hub.

Kami Havluciyan, CEO of X-Ray Center remarked, "We are thrilled and honored to be chosen as the partner for pallet and cargo screening at SMARTIST. SMARTIST is truly a marvel of Turkish engineering that will thrust Turkish Cargo and Türkiye into the future as the most important cargo hub in the world. Like Turkish Airlines, we are a Turkish company that has grown from the ground up to become a trusted global brand, and our x-ray security screening systems protect critical infrastructure, ports, borders, airports, prisons, and courthouses all around the world, and even large events like the Tokyo Olympics in 2021."

Head of Research and Development at X-Ray Center, Murat Ozdemir said, "Our XRC® 180-180DV systems are state of the art, and they are ideal for screening large items, such as cargo and pallets for high volume hubs such as Turkish Cargo's new SMARTIST mega cargo terminal, which is itself also state of the art."
